The Tech for Good Alliance (techforgoodalliance.org.uk) delivers meaningful, end-to-end managed corporate skilled tech volunteering programmes.

About the Tech For Good Alliance.

Managed digital impact for the third sector

Created in 2022 by the Scottish Tech Army, the Tech for Good Alliance is a core pillar of the UK’s tech for good ecosystem, delivering meaningful, end-to-end managed corporate skilled tech volunteering programmes. By harnessing the skills, creativity, and talent of the tech sector, the Alliance provides non-profits and charities with essential digital solutions and automations they otherwise couldn't access, freeing them to focus on vital front-line work.

What the Tech for Good Alliance does

It's estimated that millions of employer-supported volunteering hours go unused every year. Scoping, vetting, and managing complex tech projects requires time commercial managers don't have, but the long-term impact of such support for charities can transform their reach and resilience. The Tech for Good Alliance solves this challenge by handling the entire lifecycle of skilled volunteering projects for your organisation.

Instead of ad-hoc unskilled volunteering, the Alliance channels advanced technical, design, and operational skillsets directly into community organisations, delivering structured, turnkey digital interventions.

Why incorporate the Alliance into public sector bids?

Public sector procurement guidelines require suppliers to demonstrate clear, measurable Social Value. Including the Tech for Good Alliance in bid solutions enables suppliers to present robust, credible social interventions:

  • Quantifiable impact: Bidders can commit to precise, trackable metrics—including skilled volunteer hours contributed, platform software delivered, operational savings and increased impact generated for charities.

  • Targeted digital empowerment: Projects directly tackle the digital skills gap both within the third sector itself and in supporting organisations who have expertise in and engage with those furthest from employment, aligning with central government priorities around digital inclusion, regional resilience, and skills development.

  • Low-risk, turnkey execution: Suppliers can offer ambitious Social Value proposals with confidence, knowing the Alliance handles governance, delivery, and impact reporting end-to-end.

The Network.

The transformacy Social Value Network is a growing community of organisations — social enterprises, charities, training providers, community groups and purpose-led businesses — each delivering genuine social value in their field and their region.

Think of it as a trusted pool of partners. When organisations make social value commitments — through a Public Sector tender, a Section 106 agreement, or their own strategy — they need credible partners to help deliver them on the ground. The network exists to connect that need with the organisations best placed to meet it.

Every member is chosen for the quality and authenticity of the social value they create, so the network stays something people can genuinely rely on — a shortcut to trusted, capable partners rather than an open directory. Each member has a profile setting out what they do, who they serve and where they operate, and displays the transformacy Social Value Network member badge as a mark of their place in the community.
