What Is A B Corp Cohort?

Each cohort brings together a small group of businesses working towards B Corp certification under the B Lab Standards (V2). Over 24 weeks, with our methodology and expert guidance, your team completes each stage of the process. Fortnightly group calls with our B Corp specialists give you the tools and keep you on track. The calls provide progress check-ins, expert advice and an open forum for questions, alongside the shared experience of businesses facing the same challenges.

Structured Programme

Every two weeks for 24 weeks, you join a live session with our B Corp specialists. Each session follows a similar format with questions from the previous session at the start, a deep dive into a specific part of the B Corp process followed by questions and group discussion. Every stage comes with clear milestones and resources, so your team always knows what to work on next.

Regular Group Calls

Every two weeks, your business joins a group call with other cohort members, led by a transformacy B Corp specialist. Each call includes a progress check-in, guidance on the current stage and time for questions.

Your Team Leads the Work

Unlike our full certification support, your team completes the assessment, policies and evidence gathering itself. This keeps costs down and builds lasting in-house knowledge of the B Corp standards.

Peer Learning

Working alongside other businesses means shared learning, practical examples and mutual accountability. Many of the challenges you face will already have been solved by someone else in your cohort.

Who are B Corp Cohorts for?

Cohorts are best suited to small and medium-sized businesses with the internal capacity to lead their own certification work, which want expert guidance and structure at a lower cost than full one-to-one support. They suit businesses that are committed to certifying but do not need a consultant to prepare policies and evidence for them.

How long does the cohort programme last?

Each cohort runs for 24 weeks, with group calls every two weeks. The time to certification also depends on B Lab's verification and audit process, which takes place after submission.

What is the difference between a cohort and full certification support?

In a cohort, your team completes the certification work itself with fortnightly group guidance from our specialists. With full certification support, a dedicated consultant works one-to-one with your business to prepare policies and evidence and support you through submission and audit.

Can we move to full certification support during the programme?

Yes. If your business needs more hands-on support at any stage, we can discuss moving to our full certification support.

Are B Lab certification fees included?

No. B Lab's submission, verification and annual certification fees are paid directly to B Lab and vary by company revenue. The cohort fee covers the programme and group calls only.

Will other businesses see our information?

No. Group calls focus on progress, guidance and general questions, and you share only what you choose.
