Social value is a scored element of every major public sector tender. Under PPN 026, central government will apply a minimum social value weighting of 10% to contracts from £1m to £5m and 20% to contracts of £5m and above, for procurements commencing from 1 January 2027. Other public bodies set their own weightings under the Procurement Act 2023.
