Client Intro 
BidCraft are a bidding consultancy built on a simple but bold founding belief: there must be a better way. They help companies win large, complex public sector and defence contracts - not by cutting corners, but by going all-in on craft, collaboration, and doing things properly. BidCraft is the instigator and technical author of BSI PAS 360:2023 (the international code of practice for bid and proposal management), are an accredited training organisation for the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP), and winners of APMP UK's Industry Innovation Award.


BidCraft aren't just good at what they do - they care about how they do it. Kindness, empathy, and a genuine social conscience sit at the heart of the business. BidCraft had been working toward B Corp certification for a while - the values were always there. The commitment was never in question. What BidCraft needed for certification was the structure, the evidence, and the rigour to turn all of that into something B Lab could actually verify. And someone to help them find the gaps, face them honestly, and fix them.

Solution

transformacy worked with BidCraft to conduct a baseline assessment of BidCraft's operations, policies, and practices - across people, community, governance, and environment - to understand where they already had solid ground and where the documentation hadn't yet caught up with the reality.
 
There were grey areas (there always are). Commitments that existed in practice but hadn't been written down. Conversations that probably should have happened sooner. Policies that needed building from scratch, and others that needed tightening up. transformacy worked alongside BidCraft to formalise commitments that existed - just not on paper, drafting documents and advising on requirements to help shape responses to B Lab's questions.
 
We worked with BidCraft to evidence the things that matter most to them: their care for their teams, environmental action through Ecologi, and their support for Armed Forces veterans and charities. BidCraft had always believed that transparency builds trust - the B Corp process gave them the framework and the push to demonstrate that.
 
transformacy are now continuing to work with BidCraft to co-deliver a social value webinar - a natural next step for a business that doesn't just talk about doing the right thing, but actively helps others articulate it in bids.

Results
BidCraft are now a Certified B Corporation™. This has been thoroughly well-earned - and a long time coming. Through our work together, the values BidCraft were already living by have been formalised, evidenced, and externally verified - and the process itself has driven real, lasting improvement.
